Designer Window Films Are Recognized As Effective Ultraviolet Protection
For years, window fashion and interior designers have turned to Panorama designer window films for an attractive, highly effective solution to sun-related building problems. Now they have one more reason to incorporate Panorama into their design schemes – a coveted Seal of Recommendation from The Skin Cancer Foundation, recognizing all Panorama films as products effective for protection against ultraviolet light.
The Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated solely to skin cancer prevention and education, has stringent qualifications for product endorsement, developed by an independent committee of photobiologists. They include the repeated testing of a product’s SPF factor and evaluation of phototoxic reactions and contact irritation. Panorama received The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation across the board, adding yet another benefit to these feature-rich films. According to Lawrence Constantin, program manager for Panorama, the new Seal of Recommendation is another great vehicle for communicating the films’ exceptional solar control properties to consumers.
“We’re very proud to have the recommendation of The Skin Cancer Foundation,” said Larry Constantin, architectural products manager Bekaert Specialty Films. “Most homeowners know that their furnishings will fade over time after being exposed to ultraviolet light through a window or glass door. But most don’t realize its true intensity. It isn’t just harmful for fabrics; continuous exposure is extremely dangerous for people, as well. It results in wrinkling, sagging of the skin and even skin cancer. Now Panorama is a nationally recognized, proven means of ultraviolet protection.”
Panorama films are commonly utilized around the country by homeowners, designers and architects to maximize a building’s energy efficiency, protect the contents inside from ultraviolet damage, and to improve its exterior aesthetics. The films are superior in construction: select films reject over 80 percent of solar energy, and all Panorama films reject nearly 100 percent of ultraviolet light. Plus, unlike traditional window films, Panorama will not change color, due to its state-of-the-art 100 percent sputtered metal construction. What all of that means to a building and homeowner is a cooler, more comfortable environment, an attractive building appearance with reduced energy costs, and now … safety for people as well as property against harmful ultraviolet light.
